Buying INTO a property

I am condering buying INTO a property (as opposed to buying it outright).
So I would buying a piece of the LLC that owns the property.
This is slightly different than the traditional outright purchase.
Beyond the obvious partnership issues, are there any other pitfalls I need to worry about.
