Typically I find that these type of purchases DO include a disclosure that the BUYER is liable for any lot rent or taxes due.
Regardless of this verbage or not, the power lies with the property owner. The first rule of Lonnie dealing is to get in good with the park owner/manager.
Even if you do not feel like you need to pay the back lot rent, the reality is that if you do not, chances are you are not going to be allowed to keep that home on that lot for long. You can either budget in the amount due, get permission to keep the home on the lot and go about your Lonnie deal business or you can budget in the cost of move, set up, decks, skirting, utility hookup and any costs associated with buyer/renting the new lot.
