Cancer and your credit score

Hi all, I came down with cancer recently and what a battle that was! Due to me not protecting myself I lost everything and my credit is now in ruins and the doctors say I may never work again. They don't know me very well. My past knowleddge about REI is fairly strong, but I had great credit and a little money when I first started. I have done about a 100 deals in the past. My question to everyone is; How do I find a partner with credit who will trust me and work with me? I have a great plan and the large financal companies say they will be happy to handle things on a large scale. My plan requires that I start little due to the nature of the plan and I don't have the money or the credit to even get started. Is there someplace out there to get help? I am not looking for a hand out, just a hand up. Thanks and I hope this does not cross the line about partners. Richard in Tx
