It really helps to somehow get to know the banker. If they like you or believe in you you can put deals together a lot easier. If they turn you down, ask them why, and keep asking what you could do differently next time to get funded. Go back with co signers or cd's for collateral, whatever it takes. Don't give up when they say no, be determined and they might just change their mind if you can bring something else to the table. This shows determination and creative thinking in a problem situation which goes a long ways.
