It really depends on the amount that you have and your tolerance to risk.
Large amounts of cash just sitting in a bank account is by far the worse idea unless you need it for short term cash flow.
Right now, if it were me and I'm in a similar situation I would put money in silver, gold or markets outside of the U.S.
If you read what over seas financial papers are saying about our economy you might want to put it under a mattress.
So basically I would say search for a safe investment and wait out the storm.
